Withered fields
for violin and piano

The work is a recomposition of the last piece in Haiku from 1999.
It is inspired by Basho's last poem, his death poem from 1694.


sick on my journey,
my dreams go wandering
on this withered field


In the poem we find ourselves somewhere between dream and reality, the living and the dead, where consciousness wanders along unknown paths.

Withered fields er inspireret af ovenstående haiku-digt af den gamle mester Basho, her gengivet fra Hans-Jørgen Nielsen: HAIKU – en introduktion og 150 gendigtninger.

Det er hans sidste digt - hans dødsdigt.
Stemningen er et sted imellem drøm og virkelighed, det levende og det døde hvor bevidstheden vandrer af ukendte stier.
