Program Note
In English
Moto Immoto (2011/2018)
Accordion solo (tranquil version)
This version of Moto Immoto (motion in the motionless – 2011) for accordion solo is dedicated to Rasmus Schærff Kjøller and Bjarke Mogensen and is a reduced, more calm version of the original work from 2009.
Moto Immoto is slow, meditative, and permeated by an underlying sense of lost time. The music moves inevitably through all keys, circular and in perpetual motion, yet remains still, frozen in a time that was and perhaps is yet to be. The work is inspired by the great Japanese master Basho’s final haiku – his death poem – situated somewhere between dream and reality, the living and the dead, where consciousness wanders along unknown paths.

Moto Immoto (2011/2018)
Akkordeon solo (versione tranquilla)

(Nathan Faro - American Record Guide Nov/Dec 2018)... It takes considerable willpower not to rewind to the beginning when it finishes...... Like the rest of Lohse’s works on the album, it is a delight.Read full review → - MusicWeb International (2018)
(Richard Hanlon - MusicWeb International)... Lohse has given this (work) the lovely title Moto Immoto (Motionless motion), an apt oxymoron that utterly encapsulates this short, heartfelt piece...... it certainly affected this reviewer in those terms - and easily bears repeated listening. It is revealing that this ten-minute panel lasts not a moment too long.
(Henrik Friis - Politiken, kultur)The mobiles are breathlessly intense as they alternate between mournful and optimistic with equal parts chain dance and black melancholy.Read full review →
