Program Note

Concerto Piccolo II begins with slow, expressive music that gradually increases in speed and intensity until Baroque elements break through at the end of the work. The piece can be performed in conjunction with Concerto Piccolo I (2023) as Accordion Concerto No. 3.

The work was composed for Bjarke Mogensen as a piece for accordion and electronics/sampled orchestra in 3D immersive audio. It is designed for performance in varied settings, including churches, galleries, and concert venues, as well as outdoor environments such as rocky landscapes, forests, or urban squares.
