Program note
English
I am deeply fascinated by the energy and musical expression in baroque music.
The joie de vivre and the playful lightness of Vivaldi's concerts have been a great inspiration in this concert, but also baroque music's incredible ability to reach an inner core of being present, expressing a deep passion and connecting us to something greater than ourselves.
The concert is in three movements, with the two outer movements surrounding a slightly longer slow movement in the middle. Themes, figures and harmonic progressions run across the three movements and the soloist constantly alternates between being shifted in time and together with the orchestra.
The concert is commissioned by PIF Castelfidardo 2024 and dedicated to Antonio Spaccarotella and PIF Castefidardo
